Hi, I’m Roone Ruanaidh, a technology architect based in Montana.
I have six years of experience implementing technical governance to safely deploy solutions in regulated environments. Four of those years have been in the State IT Services Division of the Montana Department of Administration (DOA).
I work alongside the State Chief AI Officer to enable safe use of state data with AI models and foster AI literacy across the enterprise. I have also won a Governor’s Award for Individual Excellence in Performance, led an enterprise technical architecture group, and built unified data models to connect biennial planning to daily execution in my time with DOA.
Since the inflection point with AI coding in late 2025, I have been researching and building the enforcement layers that systems need to make AI agents safe and effective in their work independent of the model provider.
I have been especially focused on identity isolation, OS sandboxing, context engineering, harness configurations, agent contracts, toolkit design, versioning automation, and cross-model feedback loops.
If I’m not at my workstation, I am most likely spending time on my other passions like cooking, poetry, guitar, or being in the mountains. I also have a dog named Athena and two cats Opal and Zooey who help keep me active and grounded.
